Our mission: To contribute to public and animal health and food safety through high-quality and ethical education of veterinary professionals, veterinary research and continuing professional development.

The faculty of Veterinary Medicine is the only faculty in Latvia that offers studies to gain the qualification - veterinarian. Graduates of the study programme have the right to establish a private veterinary medical practice, to work in already established veterinary clinics, in Food and Veterinary administration and service institutions. The Faculty comprises three institutes - the Preclinical Institute (PREK), the Clinical Institute (KLIN), and the Institute of Food and Environmental Hygiene (PVHI) - as well as the LBTU Veterinary Clinic, the LBTU Small Animal Shelter, and the Clinical Research Centre.
