Clinical Institute
The Clinical Institute combines excellence in veterinary education, clinical training, and research. Teaching covers the core disciplines of veterinary medicine, including anaesthesiology and emergency medicine, diagnostic imaging, equine medicine and surgery, production animal medicine and surgery, and companion animal medicine and surgery, preparing students to achieve the Day One Competences. In collaboration with the LBTU Veterinary Teaching Hospital, students gain supervised hands-on clinical experience from the third year of the study programme. The Institute also features a modern Clinical Skills Laboratory equipped with advanced simulators and training models, enabling students to develop practical skills in a safe and supportive learning environment before working with live animals.
Alongside its educational mission, the Clinical Institute conducts research in both companion and production animal medicine, collaborating with partners in human medicine, the pharmaceutical industry, and veterinary companies. As the strategic lead of the LBTU Clinical Research Centre, the Institute fosters innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of evidence-based veterinary medicine.
